How were you introduced to the world of the Portuguese tech industry?
Been part of the Portuguese tech industry since 1991.
Walk me through your work and what you are doing now in the tech industry.
After working in the Portuguese tech industry for 28 years I am now working at Workday in Dublin as a senior manager in Software Development Engineering.
As a team leader, I am passionate about success and enabling teams to go where they want and sometimes where they were not willing to go but where they can then accomplish great things.
What part of what you do, you love the most?
I am driven by unlocking people’s potential to become better.
How do you think that your background and knowledge impact the way you approach your work in the Portuguese tech industry?
Having transitioned from working as a developer to working as a manager helps me to build strong teams and to deliver business value.
Different roles throughout my career enable me to look at a problem statement from the customer perspective and the consultant strategy driving to better solutions.
What advice do you have for young women that want to get into tech and don’t know where to start?
Never give up! There’s going to be anxiety about uncertainty and fear about failing, but push yourself to keep going.

Walk me through a day in your life as a Portuguese women in tech.
Start the day by participating in some of the team's daily stand-ups. Being an enabler for team and project success. And yes, there’s that thing… making decisions.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Do not fear mistakes, learn from them.
What apps/software/tools can’t you live without?
Workday (yes!!!), Slack, Trello, Planview Leankit and Whatsapp.
